When another reservation fell through, we were very fortunate to stumble on Shounanhanten. We had a delightful dinner! Each plate was absolutely top-notch, and the owner was a wonderful host—personable, welcoming, and a true advocate for the breadth of dishes on the menu. (There isn’t an English menu, but the owner is fluent in English and was a perfect guide. There are also excellent vegetarian options.)

Food was decent but was unhappy that when we ordered 2 set meal they merged the 2 portions together without informing. Service was bad, stacked the plates in front of us dropping our chopsticks on us and clearing our soup without asking

We went for lunch and ordered Green Onion Oil Noodle which comes with 3 side dishes, one soup and dessert. Main dish turned out to be a huge quantity of ingredients less noodle and I couldn't finish it. The side dishes, soup, and the dessert were decent.

The food and service were incredible. There's no English menu but the staff were so willing and happy to help us with picking out dishes. A fantastic and underrated hidden gem in Tokyo.
